Tanya Fernandez

Responsible for driving StolenYouth’s prevention through education program, Tanya brings over 15 years of program development and nonprofit leadership experience to StolenYouth. A seasoned educator and violence prevention expert, she has dedicated her career to advocating for marginalized youth, beginning as a rape crisis counselor in Oakland, California. After relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2014, she developed an anti-trafficking curriculum that reached more than 5000 students in 20 schools in a four-year period, increasing students’ prevention knowledge by 30%, before transitioning into a leadership role at Planned Parenthood. Tanya holds a Master's of Social Work from the University of Washington.
